Who’s going to pay for all of this?

An International Herald Tribune blog asks this question related to the global financial crisis.
There is no doubt that the ideological belief that has been predominant among the liberal democracies in the last decades is on the brink of being irretrievably shattered.
The thing, you may have probably noticed, is that nowadays politicians in Western democracies don´t care a damn about common people´s problems. All they think about is how they can expand their influence and how to raise taxes to fund wars and to kill any perspective of a multicultural society in the 21st century Earth.
The future is gloomy indeed and the return of totalitarianism is near. The power of the corporations took over the control of the governmental action and the financial paranoia will prevail over the issues of green thinking and making a better world for future generations.
Mr. Huxley, you were so awfully right...
How much does a war cost nowadays?
